What is individual health insurance?
Individual health insurance is for people who are not covered by group health insurance or any other qualified health insurance. As a result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the State of Washington created its own Health Benefit Exchange. This exchange is called the Washington Healthplanfinder.
Open Enrollment for Individual Insurance is November 1st through December 15th for an effective date of January 1st. Open Enrollment can be extended or re-opened due to certain circumstances, such as COVID-19. In these cases, it is important to get expert advice.
If you need health insurance outside of Open Enrollment, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period. Just contact us and one of our Certified Healthplan Finder Insurance Professionals will guide you through the process.
